A tribute to a silent servant at the Salone del Mobile: For decades, the Milan design fair has been a central hub for the furniture industry. At his first exhibition on the fairgrounds, artist and designer Jakob Glasner noticed two things in particular: a unique object and endless amounts of packaging and single-use building materials for the stands. He was also puzzled by the fact that,
amidst all the well-designed pieces in fancy booths, visitors mainly sought rest on unadorned metal beams on the sides of the halls. After the event, Glasner collected the leftover material, filled it into a steel grid copy of this bench ... and still wonders:
